Art Therapists Against Abuse

Art Therapists Against Abuse (ATAA) is a collective space for art therapists and allies committed to naming, addressing, and preventing abuse within our field and beyond. Rooted in care, accountability, and collective action, we exist to support one another, share resources, and hold space for the complex realities of harm, power, and healing.

This is a place for connection and solidarity where art therapists can find support, exchange knowledge, amplify lived experiences, and access tools for advocacy, education, and change. We recognize that abuse can take many forms and that addressing it requires both individual and systemic approaches. Through shared resources, dialogue, and community care, we aim to foster safer, more ethical, and more just professional spaces.

Art Therapists Against Abuse is grounded in the belief that healing work must include truth telling, accountability, and collective responsibility. Together, we work toward a field that not only values creativity and expression, but actively protects the dignity, safety, and wellbeing of those within it.
