ATAA Agenda for AATA All Members Meeting
Alicia has asked me to create an ATAA agenda for the AATA All Members Meeting on Jan. 28. We'll be focusing on policy because that's what they'll listen to. If you'd like to take point on a specific discussion area, let me know. Ideally, it would be great for each item to have a different point person. The more people they hear from, the better.
So far, what I have is:
An opening statement about the ATAA group.
A clear statement that the allegiance of the board is to THE MEMBERSHIP (in any membership NPO) and their responsibility is to help guide the organization (executive director, staff, and membership). Their allegiance is not to the ED.
A need for clear procedures for addressing/petitioning the board.
A need to put the power back in the board's hands, rather than the ED.
Accountability for all of AATA (AATA staff, board members, and members), based on a ratified code of ethics, with formal processes for consequences when internally and externally violated.
Establishing mandatory training for AATA staff and board members regarding abuse reporting and responses, AND establishing designated personnel in in-person spaces to receive reports.
Annual evaluations for the ED, Bylaws, and Policies and Procedures, which are expected to happen.
Resolutions committee?
**Make a point to blow up the meeting chat with questions and comments.
Let me know what I missed or needs changed.
Thanks, Jason

If you're still looking for people I could take the one about addressing/petitioning the board as I (or anyone) could use the example of how we sent a petition with over 500 signatures and haven't gotten any response other than that they forwarded it to the board.
