Letter to President etc

Thank you, Allie for writing such a professional letter with the details we are focusing on. I copied and pasted it to president and president elect. Raquel wrote back, which I will post here. I don't know why she said I was unengaged as I renewed my membership, spoke at a membership meeting, and wrote her and others about an ONET issue I had.

Hello Betsy,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write. I know that is a trite statement but I sincerely much prefer to have concerned members offering thoughtful criticism than to have unengaged members. It is also clear you have put a lot of thought into what you wrote and shared so I appreciate that and the strength of your belief in art therapy and your concern for the organization.

You raised many points so I will be rereading and revisiting your email but wanted to get back to you quickly to let you know it has been received and read. For now please know that several of the things you mentioned are things we have in fact have been working on

I also want to let you know I will add your email to the member feedback we have been compiling and will be reporting to members on.

As you may already know we will be holding our Annual Meeting of the Membership on Jan 28th at 8pm. I hope you will be able to join us.

I notice your letter is addressed to the Board of Directors so I will be sure it is shared beyond Traci and myself to the remainder of the Board.

Respectfully,

Raquel

I also received a reply from Raquel:

Hi Jasmine,

I’m writing to let you know that I received your email. I assure you that I took note of the personalized section that you added. I also want to make sure you know that all member feedback is being captured, reviewed, and shared with the board. We will also report on member feedback at the All-member meeting.

I am not responding to the individual points in your email here, but the board will be sharing updates at the All-member meeting. If you’re unable to attend rest assured that a follow up email will go out to all members. In addition, as you know, you can always reach out to me via email. If there are concerns raised in your letter that aren’t covered there, I will follow up with you.

Thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns. I know that that can sound empty or canned, but it is sincere because I truly believe an engaged membership is important to me and to our profession.

Respectfully,

Raquel
