Writing our own timeline/article/statement?

I want to commend everyone because the meeting felt tense at times, I also think we had really good moments of connection. Everyone brought up really good points, questions, and discussions.

Upon reflection about AATA not being able to put out a statement or summary. I'm wondering if we can write our own summary/timeline? This was mentioned last night that there's a lot of confusion round what happened, what's happening, and AATA utilizing social media poorly. For example I have a few art therapy friends that are not aware that the initial SA from the conference has been litigated and is a closed case, they think it's still on going and that's why AATA's social media doesn't say anything yet.

I don't think anything is stopping us from writing something for the community. I suppose to be safe we would need to include AATA's statements both written an verbal, but that's pretty simple because it's essentially just, "for legal reasons we can't say anything."

While I understand there's legal things holding them back for some reason. This does feel partially neglectful on AATA's part to not have something or not have some sort of unofficial statement.

Also I think we would gain more reach, more members, by posting on Linkedin about what is happening. Writing an article could really help dispel any confusion.

Thoughts?

Really good insight and comment. I'm wondering if we can discuss this on Monday night when it has been a suggested evening for a meeting. Please confirm if we are meeting on Monday eve 8 EST

Yes, thanks to everyone who spoke. We were much more organized than AATA, even though they had our letter and petition. I agree that we need a meeting in February w/AATA and will write the Board. Judy Rubin wrote me that she wrote the Board asking for a meeting w/ no time limit and Jason tried to make motions last night and did write in AATA Forum for a meeting in Feb as well
